Kart Chassis

SETUP:

The chassis came with no documentation, but it was pretty straight forward with only a few parts to assemble, and all of the necessary tools were provided. The steering column had to be put into place and the gas tank attached under that. The seat had to be bolted into place. Normally one would align the seat with the driver in place, but the holes were already drilled, so I will go with that until I weigh the kart and determine a need to relocate the seat. I also noticed that the seat extends a little below the frame rails. This is not normally the way it should be done. Remove the wheels and/or tires and set the kart on a flat surface with the frame rails sitting flat. This keeps the seat bottom at or above the bottom of the frame rails. Adjust the seat to the desired position and have a helper mark the mount hole. Drill just a few until the kart has been weighed.

Next the rear bumper had to be bolted on. I also found that the holes on the sprocket hub are badly misaligned, so I bolted on the sprocket and sprocket guard with the bolts that would fit. Then I had to use smaller bolts in the remaining holes.
